The spirit, the feeling that you can achieve everything. To be a rebel and to do your own thing. Those are the essential ingredients of a startup feeling. But you can’t only experience an exciting time in a startup. It’s a big process of learning and failure. Here are my top 3 learnings from my time in a start-up.

An idea isn’t everything

Did you ever have an idea for a business? Almost everyone has had a great idea. The idea is only 1% of the business and it will never become reality if you don’t have enough courage to realize it. Take every chance and learn from the outcome. But always keep in mind, stay realistic and focus on the important points. By realizing your ideas, you will learn a lot about project management and correct use of your budget. Every first step is hard!
You won’t meet the comfort zone soon again

Every startup lives from a rapid growth. That’s why it is necessary to always set up new features and reinvent your products. Even if the new product isn’t your specialty, try it out, you won’t regret it. I know it’s risky, but essential. At the very beginning you will have to mutate yourself into an expert of everything, because nobody can help you. You are your own boss, you have to choose decisions. Exactly that’s why the comfort zone will be a foreign word for a long time.
Presence on the social network
Every business lives from contacts. You maybe will only get the big assignments if you have contacts to important people. Nevertheless, social networking is a big part for your company. It is more essential than ever before. You can create a community, find investors or just introduce your business to the world. So your major focus should be on building a strong social network as soon as possible.
A startup is a difficult step on your career ladder, but you will learn and develop yourself so much. Every task, every job, every step will increase your skill level to make it better the next time.

Your tips are not only important for start-ups, but for any start into self-employment. These tips helped me a lot. Thanks for your suggestions.
